Qudsia Shafiq


A native of Chicago, Ms. Shafiq moved to Atlanta to be closer to her family. After falling in love with Atlanta, she decided to attend law school. There, she discovered her passion for securities law as a student intern at the Investor Advocacy Clinic. Her work in the Investor Advocacy Clinic included educating investors about complex financial products and current events through blog posts and animated tutorials, counseling small-scale clients on the viability of their claims, helping clients navigate the FINRA claims process, representing clients in arbitration proceedings, and assisting the Georgia Secretary of State Securities Division investigate consumer complaints of unregistered securities offerings. During her time with the Clinic, Ms. Shafiq testified before the Securities and Exchange Commission at an Investor Advisory Committee meeting to advocate on behalf of clients and law school clinics. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Clinical Legal Education Association (CLEA) Outstanding Clinical Student Award for her demonstrated commitment to investor advocacy and protection.

Ms. Shafiq’s experience in investor advocacy renders her a valuable resource to Parker MacIntyre’s clients. She primarily practices in our Regulatory Practices Group by providing compliance advice to our registered investment adviser and broker-dealer clients.

Ms. Shafiq’s previous legal experience includes an internship with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office, an externship with Atlanta Legal Aid Society with the Senior Citizens Law Project, an externship with the Georgia Office of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Unit, and clerkships at a local commercial real estate law firm and a local railroad injury law firm.

During her time in law school, she served as the President of the Business & Law Society, the President of the Muslim Law Students Association, and as a volunteer for GSU College of Law’s Class Gift Campaign. She was also a Graduate Technology Assistant to the College of Law’s Technology Help Desk.

In 2019, Ms. Shafiq represented Parker MacIntyre in “She Leads,” an investor education and outreach program whose aim was to empower women to become better investors.

Ms. Shafiq earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law.

Ms. Shafiq is currently a member of the Atlanta Bar Association (Business & Finance, Corporate Counsel, and Women in the Profession groups), the South Asian Bar Association of Georgia (SABA-GA), the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL), and GSU College of Law’s Law Alumni Council.
